What is Penalty for expiry of E-way bill during transit?

Nexa Consultancy | Startup & Finance Glossary

An E-way bill has a specific validity period based on the distance to be traveled. If the goods are in transit after the E-way bill has expired, it is considered a violation. The goods can be detained, and penalties can be levied.

Startup Example: A truck carrying a startup's goods breaks down, and the transit is delayed. If the E-way bill expires during this time and is not extended, the shipment is at risk of being penalized if inspected.

We advise on proper logistics and E-way bill management.
