What is Penalty for not obtaining a DIN?

Nexa Consultancy | Startup & Finance Glossary

An individual cannot be appointed as a director of a company in India without obtaining a Director Identification Number (DIN). Acting as a director without a DIN is a violation of the Companies Act and can lead to penalties.

Startup Example: Founders of a new startup must apply for and obtain DINs as part of the company incorporation process before they can be officially appointed as directors.

We handle the entire incorporation process, including DIN application.
